The City of Blanchard's Emergency Management program works to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and reduce the impacts of emergencies and disasters that may affect our community. The Emergency Manager coordinates planning efforts, emergency response, and recovery activities to help protect the lives, property, and well-being of Blanchard residents.
The City utilizes an all-hazards approach to emergency management, focusing on planning, coordination, preparedness, response, recovery, and hazard mitigation. This includes identifying potential risks within the community and working to reduce their impact whenever possible.
Examples of emergencies that may affect Blanchard include:
- Fires
- Floods
- Tornadoes
The City of Blanchard works closely with local, county, state, and federal partners to prepare for emergencies and coordinate an effective response when disasters occur.
The Blanchard Fire Chief currently serves as the City's Emergency Manager.
