About
The City of Blanchard Fire Department was founded in 1941 as a volunteer fire department. It remained a volunteer department until 2008, when the city hired its first full-time, paid Fire Chief. The department is currently led by Fire Chief Charlie Largent, who was hired in January 2011.
The Blanchard Fire Department is a combination department made up of one Fire Chief, one Deputy Fire Chief, six full-time firefighters, and up to 30 authorized volunteer firefighters. The department operates from two fire stations. Fire Station 1 opened in 1991 and Fire Station 2 opened in 2021.
